Brian Crawford, Chair Brian Crawford is an Attorney in private practice in Durham, NC. His
practice focuses on business law, nonprofit law and real estate. Mr.
Crawford received his JD from North Carolina Central University School
of Law and is a graduate of Connecticut College. He is a member of the
ABA and the NCBAR Association. He currently serves and volunteers as a
member of the Orange County Affordable Housing Advisory Board, BB&T CRA
Steering Committee, Carter Community Charter School Board of Directors,
Duke Law Community Enterprise Clinic Board of Advisers, Generations
Credit Union Advisory Board and Self-Help Credit Union Advisory Board.

Michael Palmer,
Vice Chair Michael Palmer is the Director of Duke University's Office of Community
Affairs, where he oversees the office that manages the Duke-Durham
Neighborhood Partnership. A former deputy Durham County manager, he
fosters productive relations between Duke and community groups and
identifies outside funding for partnership activities. Michael is Duke's
main liaison to Durham city and county government.

Allison Fansler, Secretary An MBA student at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Ms.
Fansler has significant experience in education reform. Prior to
enrolling at Duke, Ms. Fansler worked for the KIPP Foundation, where she
co-founded 15 college preparatory charter schools and consulted to an
additional 30 charter schools across the country on finance, operations,
and governance. Previous to KIPP, Ms. Fansler directed sales and
marketing for an education software company. She also served in the
Clinton Administration as the White House Liaison at the US Department
of Treasury, coordinating domestic and international policy initiatives.
She holds a bachelors degree in Spanish from the University of Virginia.

Anita Daniels, Treasurer Ms. Daniels has worked with business, community, local/state government,
agency, and university representatives throughout the Triangle region
[Durham, Orange, and Wake counties] for the past 17 years. Her
experiences include: board recruitment, human resources position
reclassifications, staff recruitment, training, supervision and
evaluation; grants development/oversight, program planning, development
and evaluation, as well as budget development, fiscal analysis and
management. She has served as the Director of the Durham Youth
Coordinating Board, Executive Director for United Way of Greater Orange
County, Vice President, and Assistant Vice President for local United
Ways in the Triangle, and Center Director for the Community Family Life
and Recreation Center at Lyon Park. Additionally, Ms. Daniels is
authorized in the State of North Carolina to practice as a provisional
Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the North Carolina Social Work
Certification and Licensure Board. She has a Bachelor's Degree from East
Carolina University and a Master's Degree in Administration from the
School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

Dr. Grova Bridgers, Member Dr. Grova L. Bridgers is president of Grova L. Bridgers and Associates,
an educational consulting firm. From July 2001 to May 2004, Dr. Bridgers
served as a visiting professor in the School of Education. His duties
include the interim coordination of the Master of School Administration
Program. Dr. Bridgers retired from the North Carolina Department of
Public Instruction in June 2001. Dr. Bridgers worked in various
capacities at NCDPI including consultant, chief consultant, assistant
director and director. Prior to his career at the department, he served
as teacher, job coordinator, and assistant principal, and principal in
the Wake County, Weldon City and Halifax County School Systems. He
received his formal education at North Carolina Central University,
Virginia State University and Campbell University.

Diana Legrant, Parent Representative Ms. Legrant currently owns and operates D&J Christian Faith Daycare. A
1988 graduate of Rutledge College with a degree in Nursing, Ms. Legrant
has worked extensively in her field of study. Ms. Legrant has two
grandchildren who attend Carter Community School and continues to be
very instrumental in the recruitment of students to the school.
